Hi, first of all, sorry for anything that might get out of the common rules, this is my first time posting here, im sorta noob and my english is not very good.

Recently, I bought one 8gb (1x) HyperX Fury 1866mhz, and I was using one 4gb (1x) Corsair Vegeance 1600mhz, both DDR3.

I heard and read in a lot of places that you shouldnt put two types of memory ram working together, even if they're the same voltage, mhz and everything else.
The question is, can I use the Hyperx 1866mhz with the Corsair 1600mhz to get a total of 12gb memory ram? Or should I stick to 8gb?
Also, if I can run 12gb, what do I need to do to set things right with the memory rams so they can run in the same speed and CL?

Thank you already.

Solution
Give them a try and see if they even play - if they do, then will prob set to 1600, from there you can try running at 1866. See if they play and if so and you want to try, give a shout and we'll try setting for 1866 ;)
