1600 X 1200 problem since Windows XP Upgrade

I had a few games I ran at 1600 X 1200 under Win 98 (with Nvidia Geforce 3). Since updgrading Operating system to XP Home edition, I can't run correctly in 1600 X 1200. The games will run at this resolution, but the displayed image does not fill the monitor completley, and that image is bowed / distorted.

I have of course- changed to Detonator drivers designated for XP. The version I am currently using are the 21.83's.

Any thoughts?

I think you have a different refresh rate in XP at that resolution. So, try to find out what refresh rate you want, or what rate you use to have in 98 and set it.
What refresh rate do you run now at 1600x1200? Try 75Hz at least...

Go grab Detonator Version 23.11, the version you have is definitely not a good version to use.

As to how to fix your problem, lol. Your gonna bang your head against the wall. Its your monitor. Use the monitor picture adjustment buttons to fix the picture geometry. You have to do that for every resolution. Sometimes when you reformat or something that gets all out of whack, just changing drives can cause it to go out of whack and make it so you ahve to readjust. I'm talking about the buttons on the bottom of your monitor, just below the screen

If you run the 23.11 or 23.12 drivers, you'll need the <A HREF="http://www.planetquake.com/ztn/nvreffix/index.html" target="_new">Windows nVidia Refresh Rate Fix</A>. If you run the 28.32 drivers or better, you won't.
