1600MHz and 1333MHz RAM together?

I already have 2x4GB 1600mhz RAM installed on my PC and I have recently been donated 2x4GB 1333mhz RAM. Would the 1333 RAM be compatible with the 1600mghz RAM?

Hey,

If it is the same type of RAM (ie. both DDR3 and both support a similar voltage) then the sticks should be compatible however you would likely have to drop down to 1333mhz.

Yes it should be able to work together, You will have to either run all of your memory at 1333, or attempt to OC the 1333 and get everything to run at 1600 via bios settings. If you have a storebought computer this becomes trickier as you won't be able to change memory settings.
