1600mhz ram on 1333mhz supported motherboard?

my config is:

i3 2120
gigabyte mobo ga-h61m-s2p-b3 rev 1.0
corsair 4gb ram 1333mhz (CMV4GX3M1A1333C9)
MSI GTX 750TI ocv1 graphic card

my ques is: can i add extra 4gb ram? will Corsair CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9 vengeance be compatible with my existing ram? will both of them run correctly without any problem? will there be any latency issue? pls rply asap......

Only buy additional RAM from the same manufacturer, with the same specs and same part numbers. Even then it is a crapshoot whether they will work together reliably. It is best to buy multiple DIMMs in "Matched Sets".

As Yogi said, it's a crapshoot, even with another stick of the same exact model, if you have or try and have problems give a shout and we can try voltage/timing adjustments to try and get them to play nice

thanku... but i've read that 1600mhz ram will automatically get backward compatible with 1333mhz ram.... !!??
i think my existing ram and the ram which am planing to buy as its in my budget both have same latency timing i.e. 9-9-9-24

It depends on the BIOS, adding new DRAM will likely drop to 1066, and then - if they will even play - you will set them them 1333 or as high as you can run them. Again, there is no guarantee they will play with your old
