Under load hits 1.406

Is this any good for just tinkering for an overclock??

Looks about par for the course. My own 1600X is no longer 100% stable beyond 4GHz. From what I've read, 1st gen Ryzens were not great OC'ers beyond 4GHz.

50-51c cpu

Then you've done pretty good. Might try for more of you've got the cooling and a quality PSU, board, etc. Looks like a good piece of silicon.

I think my 2133mhz g.skill running at 2400mhz at 1.35v might by my issue in going farther

In what way? You should OC with the RAM at its default freq. Then when the CPU is at a stable OC, play with the RAM if you want. But the gain from 2133 to 2400 Mhz isn't all that much to worry about.

Yeah just over all stability... because OCing the ramis where I'm having trouble I think
