1600x900 is messed up and other lower res

When i try to game any res lower than 1920x1080 it seems to have black bars on the top and bottom. It is really annoying because i get frame drops on 1920 sometimes.

Look in your graphics settings for scaling options, normally there is an option to have the graphics card do it instead of leaving it to the monitor. However bear in mind LCD screens do not scale well and tend to look fuzzy at non native resolution, better to tweak in game quality settings to increase framerate if possible rather than lower the resolution.
