Question 1660TI GTX1070TI or RTX2060

I am saving up for a Ryzen 5 to replace my fx4300 and pair it with my gtx1050 for a while but also later on i want to buy a new gpu. Im thinking of an rtx2060 atm for playing at 1080p at max settings but the 1660ti is less expensive and only -20%. Should i get a gtx1070ti rtx2060 or a 1660ti. RTX on might be good and i wont mind turning the settings down for it. Also does one of these gpu's do not bottleneck a ryzen 3? I could go alot more cheaper by getting a r3 and having no bottlenecks for my 1050. Thanks

I recommend the 1070ti not many games make use of rtx's new ""texture pack"" not exactly sure what to call it anymore people have been ripping on it in so many diffrent places. However the 2060 doesnt provide much difference in my ryzen 2600x build compared to when i put in my 1070ti i just run it with 1070ti the 2060 has been put to the side for a future over kill build

Amd Zen2 (Ryzen 3rd gen) drops in a few months, so things may change.

No, you don't want an R3. Spend all that time saving up, to waste it all on a platform that's barely better than a 5 year old i5-4690k/i7-4790k. Minimum of R5 2600/B450, 3000/3200MHz ram 16Gb.

The gtx1660ti usually tops a gtx1070 at 1080p, goes head to head with the 1070ti/1080 and is a little lower than the 2060. But doesn't have DLSS or RT. Neither do many games, so unless you have a need for those little gimmicks to shadows and stuff, the best value is the gtx1660ti. It's not until you jump into 1440p/4k that the larger vram on the 1070ti can make a noticeable difference, even over the 2060 at times.

Sorry for the late reply but from the place where im buying my RAM, It is 80£ 2x4 and i dont want to surpass my budget. It is 3000mhz which is probably just about good enough of a speed. However should 8gb of ram be fine considering i barely open apps while i game?

I'd wait to see what the AMD Ryzen 3000 series has to offer, worse case it will most likely push current Ryzen prices lower.

Unless your buying the RTX 2080 Ti the tech is useless and will make your system run slower. I'd stay away from any Ray Tracing faulty crap for now maybe in a gen or 2 Nvidia will get it working so it is worth it. Right now it isn't worth it and should be avoided like the plague.

I do have a few years to get the gpu so there may be many releases and price drops so the r5 will only be useful for the time being with the gtx1050 so i can buy a powerful card. Ill only be playing at 60hz 1080p so even if the system will be slow it wont be painfully slow and hopefully will manage ultra at 60fps

For a Ryzen, 2 sticks is best. You can use 4x sticks, but that just puts a little more strain on the memory controller. Think of it like pushing a fridge, use one arm is ok, use 2 arms is better, try and put a shoulder into it and you don't push with the arm as much.

-i wouldnt suggest you get RTX cards unless you got shit ton of money or you hardcore fan of the few games which actually use RTX. i mean there are only handful of games that actually have ray tracing.
-dont go for GTX 10 series unless you getting a solid deal on them.
-i would wait for ryzen 3rd gen if i were you.. but ryzen3 with hyper threading are solid CPU for a mid range gaming build(games, media and browser), ryzen5 is bit of an overkill for this unless you do editing and stuff.
