16GB: 2 Dual Channel vs Single Dual Channel; Better performance on Ryzen?

Hello guys!

I´m planning to upgrade my RAM from 8GB to 16GB. Actually I have a set of 8GB (4x2). There are 2 ways of reaching those 16GB of RAM:

1: I sell my RAM set to get one of 8x2. (more expensive cause I have to sell my RAM set at a lower price ofc...) :fou:

or 2: I get another set of RAM (which is identical to the old one) and run a 2 dual channel build (4x2 + 4x2)

So my qs is: Is the performance the same in both cases? (8x2)(single dual channel) VS (4x2 + 4x2) (2 dual channel)

In both cases we get 16GB or RAM... I personally think the first option would have a better performance but I'm not sure... :heink:

What do u think???? :/

PD: BTW Im running in a Ryzen System... RAM performance is really important on these builds... thats why I´m so concerned about RAM Performance.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
There is only single channel setup or dual channel setup...there is no double dual channel. It doesn't make a lot of difference but dual channel is always faster for the same price. Less ram sticks tend to be less problematic but it doesn't make any difference in performance as long as all rams are of the same brand/speed.

Hahaha what I meant by "double" dual channel is that there are dual channels taking place between the slots 1 & 3, and in 2 & 4 😀

BTW thanks for ur answer :bounce:
