Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the process of setting up a slave machine to work alongside my main pc rig. I had intended on buying a new one entirely, but I just came across my fathers old, neglected pc and thought I'd try and use it instead for the meantime at least.
But my problem is this; I need to upgrade the amount of ram as it currently only has four sticks of 512mb init. I had four 4gb sticks of DDR3 ram left over from another upgrade that I wanted to use, but I've just discovered that because of the motherboard (ASUS P5QL EPU) that it can only use DDR2 ram. Now I've been looking online to try and fine 4x4gb of DDR2 ram but I just can't seem to find any that I can use. The only kind I can find are those that say they're only for AMD boards.
Is there any way I can get 16gb of ram into this machine? Or is there a reason I can't find them?

I don't think DDR2 is made anymore. You will probably have to settle for what's left in stock. 4-2GB can still be found and it's not too expensive. 8GB would be a big step up from 2GB. I don't think it makes much sense to put that much money (16GB) in obsolete RAM, into an old computer. Do you really NEED 16GB? Just curious.
