I read some posts about which one is better, but still don't know which one to pick because the 2400mhz kit is cheaper in my case.
I have two options:
Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 16GB DDR3-1866 CL9 ($134)
Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 16GB DDR3-2400 CL11 ($128)
So in this case the 2400mhz kit is less expensive.

Please don't try and find me cheaper or different kits, I just want to know which one will result in better performance.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Even with the slightly worse timings on the 2400 RAM, it still outperforms the 1866. Since its cheaper and performs better right out of the gate, the DDR3-2400 RAM is the best choice all around.

well 2400Mhz is faster than 1600Mhz provided that the SPD timings are tightened. Just go with the cheaper one, the difference in gaming between the 2 wont be noticeable at all.

What do you mean with "provided that the SPD timings are tightened"?
I'm don't know much about SPD, but both the Latency and Speed of both kits are the same.
The 2400Mhz will still give me better performance?

Thanks, that made the choice easier.

technically yes it will, but it wont even translate to a single fps increase in gaming. Timings are the latencies, faster RAM speed needs longer latency, hence CL11 for the 2400 and CL9 for the 1866. The BIOS will set these timings automatically though.

Good article about the differences in speeds here:

As you can see, there is no real difference in outcome. 2400Mhz is usually more expensive, so if you've found some cheaper, go for it.

One last thing, is this 2 x 8Gb sticks?

Yes, 2 x 8GB sticks kit.
Also I know that performance difference won't be noticable, but that doesn't mean there is no difference.

And an upvote for you as well, thank you!

Latency would be about 9.65 for the 1866 sticks vs 9.17 for the 2400 sticks, so the 2400 will be faster, to what degree it affects gaming and FPS depends on the individual game and how the developers utilize the DRAM, some have shown upwards of +/- 10% increases
