Hi!

I'm upgrading my RAM from my Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4) DDR3 2133mhz to a 16GB (2x8) DDR3 either 1600 or 1866mhz.

My question is, what is the difference between 1600 and 1866 mhz (it is ~£5 difference)? And what brand should I go for (Corsair (more expensive) or HyperX (less expensive) ~£10 difference)?

Corsair 1600/1866: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMY16GX3M2A1866C9R-Vengeance-Performance-Desktop/dp/B00D5X8XT4/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1463829082&sr=8-7&keywords=16gb+1866mhz+ram

HyperX 1866: https://www.amazon.co.uk/HyperX-FURY-16-Memory-Module/dp/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1463829082&sr=8-4&keywords=16gb+1866mhz+ram

There is also a 'beast' version for £5 more: https://www.amazon.co.uk/HyperX-Beast-DDR3-1866-Memory/dp/B00CEC3YH8/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1463829082&sr=8-6&keywords=16gb+1866mhz+ram

Thanks for all responses!

There will be no difference in real world applications whatsoever, unless you are running on integrated graphics. Get teh cheapest.

Well, when I play a game like Fallout 4 it has these occasional freezes when rendering or something, I dunno. But a video I watched said it may be due to insufficient RAM. This triggered me to upgrade.

Ah okay thanks! I don't really multitask at all, I keep my PC as minimalistic as possible application wise, but I'm slowly upgrading my PC to be 1080p future proof:)
