16GB Ram (7.93 Usable)

Hello!
I have just built my computer about 1 week ago, and I have realized that in my "System" information, it says that I have 16GB of DDR4 Ram, so it is recognized which leads me to believe that it is a configuration error/fix, but it also shows up in parentheses that only 7.93GB of it is actually usable. I have Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHZ RAM, and a Ryzen 7 1700 CPU. My Motherboard is the Asus x370-Pro, which was paired with the CPU cooler and the CPU. My GPU is the Gigabyte GTX 1080 8GB, which at first led me to believe that the Graphics Card was taking away from my System RAM, which put me off of making a post about it for quite a while, but then learning from a friend that that was not true, I decided to get what I paid for. I am running Windows 10 64 BIT!

green bar: in use ... what windows + your current programs are using.
blue bar: standby ... what programs you closed down and are currently not using / prefetch
light blue bar: free memory ...
all these bars should add to 16GB.

The more RAM you add, the more windows loves to fill. (im currently using 8GB green bar) so if i had 16GB, then i would only have 8GB usable too.

Sorry, but I forgot to mention in the first place that in that tab, half of it is grey, and it's "Hardware Reserved"

your motherboard has options in its bios to 'steal' RAM (share) to give your cpu graphics power, amd and intel cpus have co-gpus built in that require memory. This is most prevelent on laptops (well known) but also corresponds to desktops to some degree. Therefore disable or reduce the amount the bios is sharing. disable because you have your own dedicated card.
You may stumble across vram shadowing .... disable this if you have the option? thats taking ram to shadow your vram on the 1080. though it greatly speeds up mutlitasking between graphics programs, it does eat up your memory.

ramdisk is a program that takes RAM and converts it into superfast 'disk space' like a fictional m2 ssd. If you dont recognise the name, you do not have it installed.

Sorry, but I am somewhat new to this. Can you please explain to me how to do this? I can get into my bios, but I am not sure where to go from there. I have the newer ASUS BIOS. Thank you very much!

I am unfamiliar with your particular make of motherboard, but after some digging: your bois has no option to change the size of shared memory, it lets windows and the intel/amd chip fully control the amount used.

I am sorry i cannot offer a solution to this for you :-(
