Title says it all really. Was using one stick of 8GB but just got another, booted up, had a few difficulties at first but now I'm in and that is my current issue.
So you have two sticks that are 8 gb each? Either the stick is broken or the mobo dimm socket. I would start by trying all the slots with (starting by the one you installed the dimm) with the old working memory. If everything is ok the stick should be the problem. But even then i would do the same with the new one.

Please post the two dimm and motherboard.
I've got the one 8GB working, the other was my old one I was attempting to get working. It read it as 16gb in the initial splash and in bios, but 90% of the time it either didn't start at all, started insanely slow, froze in the middle of starting, take it out and it's fine. Was hoping I was just being stupid and was actually on to something to save me some money. 8D
