16mb ati rage 128 ultra

Hello,
I have purchased a widescren monitor and it says to set resolution to 1440 x 900. I have a 16mbati rage 128 ultra graphics card and it will not et to the required resolution. Any suggestions

I don't think your video card has the sufficient memory to run it at that resolution...

Your card is pretty old. It pre-date the wide screen format. In addition to not having enough memory for that resolution, the card itself will not support that resolution.

You need to buy a newer AGP or PCI (not PCI-e) card depending on what interface your Rage 128 uses. The AGP port is newer and allows for faster video cards.

i assume you have an agp slot. you need a new agp gfx card. I dont think there was proper widescreen support until the ati 8500 series. i know my old 8500 had dual dvi outputs and everything.

What kind of system do you have? The Rage 128 was a standard card for the old Power Mac G4, you are using one of these are you?
