im seriously considering getting the said monitor. Ive been able to have a look at it in a shop recently(with anologue connection) and the user was very enthusiastic (he wasnt selling it, it was his 'work till') and it looked superb. the shop in question was a fuji print lab, where they do colour correction jobs on digital and scanned photos for print. apparently the colour accuracy was VERY good, and the picture looked incredibly sharp to me.

the only doubt i have is the 25 ms response time. im not a serious gamer, but i do work as an animator, so need to see 25fps and 30fps feedback accurately. i wasnt able to see any animation on the monitor.

so - has anyone any experience of this monitor?? and if so, any further information would be great to have.

thanks!
john.

i'm getting mine monday, ill post something up when i get a chance...

got it, installed it dvi, and what can I say? This monitor's the bomb.. the image is clear and sharp. Colors are nice, i haven't noticed any trailing in bf1942, maybe you would see just a lil bit if you look really close, but it doesn't make any difference at all. It's a bit bright ( hell, aren't they all?), but it's ok at minimum.

I plan to mount it on the wall, hihihi....

This is a quality monitor, two thumbs up! - any questions? feel free

thats great to hear, thanks for the feedback :) when i saw it working, i noticed trails on the mouse pointer, which im not used to. it was on an analogue connection though. is that similar on the dvi?

also, would you be prepared to play an animation for me, if i were to upload it somewhere? i can simulate the work i do very accuratly, and would be very grateful if you could check it out and tell me how it measures up. im looking for any trailing basically - i need a good 25/30fps update.

also, have you used any colour callibration on the monitor yet?

many thanks,

john.

Hey john, i dloaded your robot cook animation..😛
looks good... I mean, it looks normal. There's no trailing or anything of the sort, he's not too quick on the knife. About framerate, it indicated 1.8 ~ 1.9 fps, but i'm not sure how relevant that is on a lcd...
Don't worry about pointer trails, i'm moving the mouse right now in cercles and there's no significant trails. What i mean is you see the same effect you would notice on a crt.
As for color adjustement, there is this program Natural Color that comes in the package and that lets u adjust the colors. I've just browsed through it a bit and picked one of the preset color schemes.

If you wanna know anything else, just ask. I love playing with this thing ( especially now that i've mounted it on the wall, supoeib!)

excellent, thanks horus :)
dont worry about the fps reading, thats just the rate at which it was captured originally - ie ignore it.

im glad you say no significant trailing, im almost ready to buy now i think :) ive had a look at that natural colours thing, but it sent my old crt crazy. it did have options to callibrate crt OR tft, so i expect it may work better on a nice new flatscreen.

one question though, how long is the switch between sources? eg changing from analogue to dvi using the source button on the front. if you have a two computer setup, id be pleased to know how easy the switch is between them.

many thanks,

john.

i don't, so on the same comp you probably have to reboot before switching...

just a suggestion : put it on a wall or mounting rack. It's incredible how much space you save and how much lighter your desk feels...

good luck,

Horus
