Hello there,
My friend and are building our first PC, our budget is somewhere around $1750. Like I just stated, neither of us have ever built a computer before and we aren't extremely tech savvy. We're very into gaming and having a computer that can pretty much do anything we want as fast as possible. I've done lots of research trying to basically make my own build but I always have a hard time understanding what is and what isn't going to be compatible... Basically.. If anyone out there could give some tips or maybe shoot me a nice build or something that would be awesome and I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you very much
Harry

Yeah I need an OS and monitor, but that first one looks let a good set up to me. Whenever I've looked online it seems that for a somewhat budget gaming PC the i5 4690K is pretty popular.

That's because that is the best i5 cpu and i5 is currently best for gaming, i7 is for video editing and stuff, so you won't need that. I'll start modifying the build to fit those in then.

Ahhh got it, I don't think I need anything else actually I'm gonna go with Windows 8.1 and probably get some sort of 27' 1080p monitor so I'm assuming the whole build will end up coming in around $2,000 or so after all the accessories which is about right. I really appreciate the help thank you very much!

By the way, I don't think you'll be doing OC, right? Also, do you guys play some very competitive games or fast action games? If not, then I'll get you an IPS panel of 5 ms response time for better image quality than a TN with 1 ms response time for hardcore gamers.

Edit: And are you going to use more than 1TB of storage, if not, and I'll use the extra cash to get 1 TB instead and get you a better monitor. You can always add more storage later, monitor is sort one time thing if you want it to last for a long time.

Wow, I hit right on the mark, lol, $1 extra :) This is as best as you can get for that budget. And disregard that compatibility note at the bottom, all that means is that your RAM won't be running at it's maximum. The RAM is max at 2400MHz, but if your cpu can only support up to 2133MHz like mine, then it will run at 2133MHz, so it's the same as my case, it's no problem at all. You can get to 2400MHz by OCing your CPU, so that's what it is trying to say. Also, that PSU is a very good quality PSU, it is the G2 series of the evga supernovas, you'll have plenty of power left to OC a bit if you wish to.

Edit: The monitor I chose is an IPS panel with 5 ms response time, you won't notice a difference between 1 and 5 ms unless you're like a super hardcore computer gamer. It is 27 inch 60Hz comes with speakers with both HDMI and display port, so you can use display port for your PC and HDMI for your Xbox one or PS4 if you want to.

Did you even look at the build? There is already a SSD in there.

It's alright, but actually, it is already in the first list, lol. I just clicked it and it's the same SSD that's in the new one I just modified. I don't know, weird stuff happens :)
