i currently own a 18.5" 1366x768p monitor and i sit at around 1 foot of distance from the screen . I want to know that when do i start seeing the 1080p and 720p difference . I have no money left after upgrading PC so do i really need to spend 150 dollar to buy a 1080p 21.5" monitor? Also if u would see the difference , is the difference worth it ? And are the screen size and resolution related in any way? like i know if two monitors , both 21" but one would be 720p while other is 1080p then the latter is better but when i state 18.5"720p and 21.5"1080p then which is clearer and sharper . IK THAT IN OVERALL THE LATTER IS BETTER BUT I WANT TO KNOW WHICH ONE OF THE MONITOR WOULD BE CRISPER AND SHARPER AND BETTER

Solution
1080p is crisper and sharper on a same size display. But in your case the effect is less observable as the size of the display is also increasing. Since you said your viewing distance is 1foot 1080 will make a difference. For example a 21" 1080 monitor will be of same sharpness as a 42" 4K monitor.

But my advice would be to keep your 768 displlay, save money and go for a 4K in the future.
