Hello out there! I am trying to power a second graphics card but my 1200w power supply doesn't have enough pcie ports. I bought a second 500w power supply to power just the gpu and a 24pin adapter cable for dual power supplies. The 1200w psu has a 18pin power port however so will not work with the 24 pin adapter. Any advice at all would be extremely appreciated!

Can you explain more in details?

The 1,200W PSU is the main PSU and the 500W is auxiliary PSU for the GPU, right?

What was the 24-pin adapter used for? The motherboard?

What make and model 1200w PSU? A quality 1200w PSU used to have 8 PCI-e connectors!

I guess the pinout is different. You have to measure the pinout on the 18p connector and compare it to the pinout of the 24p connector.
