Does any 19" LCD offer a natural resolution of 1600x1280? Is
1280x1024 the best resolution for 19" LCD so the industry doesn't
make any with 1600x1280?

While 19" TFT monitors with 1280x1024 can be had in the $485-630USD range,
to get 1600x1200 resolution you will need to move to a 20" or larger, which
start around $900USD. LCD monitors look best only at their native
resolution. Response times are ~25ms or slower, which makes these units
unsuitable for gamers.

If size and weigh are of no concern, a 22"(20" viewable)CRT monitor can be
had for <$600US, which out performs any LCD monitor.

Odd. I'm posting on a 17" LCD with a 16ms response time. (NEC LCD1760) My
nephew thinks it's a kick-ass gaming monitor. In an earlier thread, four or
five LCD monitors in the 19-20" range were listed with 16ms response

1280 x 1024 is the industry standard resolution for a 19" TFT monitor.
