basically, when i turn my computer on, everything boots up, keyboard, mouse, and of course the computer, but the monitor turns on,as in, i get the green dot, then it goes back to orange. nothing wrong with the computer, it boots up just fine, i just cant see anything.

before this happend when i left off or in hibernate for too long, say longer than a half hour when i brought it back to life so to speak it was a....blinking, like the middle 2 inches would blink bright white and it would gradually get faster then the image would come up and brighten and wobble then come into complete focus. i just would like to know if there is any way to fix this, or if its totally scrapped?

Try hooking it up to another video source. DVD player, game console, another computer, etc...

If you get the same effect, it's likely a very sick monitor. If the picture works fine with those components, the problem lies within the computer.

i dont have any other equipment that i can hook it up to, it does have an s video spot but i dont have an s video cord, never needed one, heh....thx tho. other monitors work fine on it, got an old 15 inch dell and a pos 15 inch flatscreen, but im having more video problems with it atm...random shutoffs and stuff. thx much!!

So you have 2 other monitors you can hook to the computer and the DELL works fine but the other one also has problems?

Can you inspect the cable? It might be damaged.

Try taking the Trinitron to someones house for testing on their PC.

heh, thats another problem, closest friend i have with a comp is bout 80 miles away.somethin is screwed up with the pins on one monitor, but ive used 3 differnet cables on the dell. same result, even bought a new cable just in case...wish i hadnt, but cant hurt to have more hardware.
