Hey guys i need help because i finally have the money and i feel like Ironside is the best place to get my computer built, but if you have a better website suggestion please let me know!

So, i need a computer that's good for Video editing/Music editing, Gaming ofc, regular internet stuff and i'll be on 24" single monitor doing 1920 x 1080.

There is ZERO reason to purchase a Xeon if scalable applications aren't going to be used. The Xeon also has a limited locked multiplier and won't overclock as well as a 3570K will.

Well as much as i really really want to, this is my first gaming computer, and i can't afford to mess up. Last thing i want is to blow something up and be screwed because i wouldn't know where to start on fixing or returning. Another thing is i live in Delaware and it's hard to find place where people can actually help you with PC's and stuff so me asking someone to help me build it is out the question. Thirdly i will eventually be building a computer myself but i need something i can look at physically to know how to do it. Currently using a laptop :wahoo:

Heh i'm sort of a nVidia fan boy, and i believe a 3770k is what i need as in CPU wise.

If you plan to overclock, buy the i7-3770k , otherwise the xeon-1230 v2 is pretty much the same, but cheaper.

Heh everyone keeps telling me that but it's like a car, i have the knowledge to fix some problems but i'm not specialized in it. So i'd rather have a mechanic do the job because that's what he specializes. Plus i'm human it sucks when you mess something up and the only person you have to blame is yourself. lul.

its lego for adults. its too easy for you to screw up. newegg has a VERY extensive guide on how to do it. plus, the parts are not too different anyways so everything hasnt changed much

heres what i would change out of yours

-i hope you do enough video editing to make the i7 worth it.
-cheap 120mm liquid coolers are a joke. when they blow up (some faulty ones do) they will kill your entire system
-the c70 is a hot house
-WAY better board. cant stress that enough. the extreme4 is built pretty cheaply
-way better fans out there than the sickleflows
-if you want lighting, do it right by using bitfenix LEDs. i find lighting a waste of time though. no one stares at their case
-stick with a 2x8 gb kit for future expansion
-more SSD storage
-evga ftw sucks compared to pretty much every other aftermarket 670.
-1000w is overkill plus the fact that you are using something from coolermaster or rosewell is a sure thing to get a crappy psu
-you change it to windows 7 pro if you want. for your rig, forget it. you can never use more than 16gb of ram since you filled up all the slots


if you cannot PHYSICALLY build the rig (seriously, im 15 and i can do it), you can take all the parts in my partslist, go to us.ncix, fill up the shopping cart, do the price matches to save, and then you can either call or email (calling is slightly better) and ask them to build it for you. they will do a job just as well for 50 bucks. it will take longer since it has to be assembled in vancouver but then its still a hell of a lot cheaper than whatever boutique builders can offer

- i7 will be worth it.
-Asetek makes corsair cooling and the 570 = h80i
-c70 has great cooling.
- This is the same board that won "Tom’s Hardware Approved Award"
- Sickleflows get the job done
- Lighting is more cosmetics.
- SSD is fine i was going to pass on it, but they told me to get that one instead.
- Excuse me did you just say EVGA FTW sucks?
- 1000w for a SLI motherboard.....clearly i'll be going SLI later on. Ironside only uses quality PSU's (3 warranty 3 year labor (free))
- 4x4 > 2x8 [Safety reasons, say one of the ram stops working]
- Windows 7 pro, again thinking ahead i will eventually upgrade my ram.

I just can't build it now, I've stated why already on this thread.

1000W is over kill for a 670 an 850W would be more then enough to SLI.

I know you said you are an Nvidia fan but I'm telling you 7970 would be better cause you can also OC the shit out of it (check to see what your games favor Nvidia or AMD)

-1000w is for 3 way SLI. something you can never do with a z77 platform without a PLX chip
-no. if a 1000w unit costs 100 dollars, there is something seriously wrong. no good 1000w unit costs 100 dollars especailly at boutique builders (where they rip you another 50%). here is the cheapest 1000w unit i can find made by kingwin. its a older superflower design with tested less than 80% efficency. id like you to see if you can pull 1000w out of it without failing

Lol i'm not doing this, i have friends who helped me pick out the parts through experience, i'm not a big fan of "oh this company says its a shitty this or that, so i'm not going to use it" I'm sure i'll be fine + there's warranties for a reason.

Oh I agree with this 100%. There's no way any system vendor on the planet could accurately charge $100 for a Seasonic X1050 Gold without losing a lot of profit. You're basically getting screwed in this area if you're not paying attention.

I've had RAM fail on me before, and dealing with manufacturers is almost never fun.

That PSU is not going to be a quality unit. A buddy of mine bought a 850w PSU from Coolmax and when it failed they gladly replaced the PSU.....not the motherboard and graphics card which also were fried. A good PSU will not ruin your system if it fails and it will have a MUCH lower fail rate.
