Hi Everyone,

As an airhead computer user, I'm having issues hooking up a second monitor, it requires 1920 X 1080 @ 60 Hertz. In control panel > screen resolutions > advanced settings > list all modes (for the radeon HD 8400) I can only get the resolution needed but @ 30 Hertz, not 60.

I have:

- Updated the driver
- Used a custom screen utility (http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU) which adds 1920 X 1080 but at 30 hertz.
- Accessed Radeon graphics software, which doesn't allow setting to 1920 X 1080 (does nothing when clicking "OK").

The setup is a Toshiba laptop, Windows 8, 64, AMD A6-5600, Graphics card Radeon HD 8400 (400mhz), VGA connections (no HDMI option). The monitor specification is here = (www.hxlstore.com/43163671586.shtml)

Would love some help as the screen was a gift....

many thanks . simon

Solution
Try to disable the use of EDID on the monitor settings, and establish a custom resolution and refresh limit.

Restart.

Go to resolution settings in windows and see if the 1080p 60hz option is available.

Solution
Doesn't let me.

Managed to use screen utility software to deliver the resolution and hertz.

But now, the screen flickers once every 15 seconds.....help...

Try a different cable.

Or the monitor could probably only support 1080p 60 thru DVI/HDMI.

Tried it on another laptop, older one with Windows 7. Worked perfectly.
On mine, don't know, something is funny.

I've deleted AMD catalyst. Updated the driver. Tried Custom Screen Utilities..............really stuck.....
