1920 x 1080 native 40"+ LCD for gaming?

A friend is interested in getting a 40" or higher LCD/TV to hook up to his PC. Are there any LCD/TVs that support PC input (either VGA or DVI) with a native resolution (that can be used via the VGA/DVI input) 1920 x 1080 and have sufficient response times so as to avoid blurred motion?

I was look at the Samsung LN-S4695Dbut am not clear if it will support 1920 x 1080 via the PC input (VGA)? And if it does, is the response time sufficient enough to avoid blurred motion in PC games?

Any input would be appreciated.

Sharp, Sony and Samsung are all coming out with new 40+ inch 1080p TVs. Sharp's arrives in the US in October, not sure about the other two (already here?). They claim an extremely fast response time, too. Visit http://www.sharpusa.com/ and click on AQUOS Widescreen TVs for more info. They do state on the site that the 46" and 52" models support 1080p input via HDMI, but be aware that I've heard of someone trying to use a DVI-to-HDMI converter on an older sharp (LC-45GD5U), without success.

As you recognize, you do have to be careful and check the specs. Older flatscreen LCD equipment typically doesn't support 1080p into any inputs, even on 1080p res screens. Best bet: bring the computer to the store, and try it out.
