1920x1080 not 1920x1080

For some reason on my computer after I (successfully) changed the mobo and processor, whenever I put the resolution of my monitor (Native IS 1920x1080) It goes to one which is smaller(idk which, still says 1920x1080), about 2 cm of black boarder. I have already checked the ratio, which is 16:9 widescreen. It's also a problem as some games won't even start because of this. I can change it to a smaller one that will show 1920x1080, but like I said games glitch out. The monitor is an ASUS VW246H 24" Monitor.

I can't. This is my only monitor and I don't want to buy a new one.

Try updating your graphics drivers. And/or change display outs (for example, change from DVI to HDMI).

what brand and model monitor do you have?

I had the same problem when I was running one of my two monitors on HDMI, which was the one with the problem, the only way I was able to fix it was to run both monitors on DVI. I didn't have any problems with games back then though.
