1gb@800 and 2x512@667?

So I have 2x512@667 currently but managed to snag a 1gb stick @800. I believe running 2x512 in dual is better than 1gb in single but would sticking in the 1gb stick to jump to 2gb total (running in single channel?) be better than yet. I play Titan Quest right now but in the near future will be moving on to Oblivion. I all ready made the mistake of getting a 8800gts 320 and I game @1600x1200. Some games that I play/played lag slightly and I can't really run AA because of the low vram. So, back to the main question 1 + 2x512 better than 2x512 or not?

Are u asking if 2 + 1 is more than 2?

Not exactly. I am curious if 2 total gig presumably running in single channel (512+512 and 1gb) is better off because of the total ram or is it better to run with the 512+512 in dual channel (assuming that the dual channel makes that much of a performance difference).

...or, does 1gb and 2x512 still run in dual channel or for that matter would 1gb and 512 run in dual?

The two 512MB modules will run in dual-channel, and the single 1024MB module will run in single-channel mode until u buy another.
