1GB card or 2GB card?

Hi, im planning to buy a GTX 570 pretty soon and im trying to figure out which one to buy, what i ran into is that TwinFrozr 3 and DirectCU2 is only 1280MB of Ram.

im going to run games at 1920x1080 and im planning to pick up the DirectCU2 card for my red themed system, backplate, and the cooler. but then EVGA GTX 570 2560MB Ram came up and i was wondering will a 1280MB card will be enough to run the latest games without running out of ram? note EVGA doesnt have a backplate, and stock cooler.

I agree with Area 51 as far as the cooler on the MSI card is plus it is a good card to boot. But if you are not going to be running more than one monitor or your gaming resolution higher than 1920 x 1200.

Then the MSI one listed is the one to get. But games in the fucture like BF3 today is requires more Vram. I believe it does its best on 1.5 gigs of Vram. Plus all most all the new high end cards come with more than one gig of Vram.

So in a sence that tells me something that the games and monitors that are coming out in the fucture will require more Vram. If that wasn't the case, then why are those cards coming out with more than one gig of Vram.

Anyway that is my opinion only and I don't have a crystal ball either it just stands to reason. So if I could get a 570 with 2 or more gigs I would but I would want the cooling of the MSI.

570 card listed above has 1.2 gigs of Vram so it is a little more than just one gig. I will give you a list of what you might think about or just check it out. I like the card listed above but here are more options. Good luck to you.

Rule of thumb > If nothing else is "increased" expect the memory, don't bother.

You will not see a difference in performance.
