1GB GPU vs 2GB GPU

I have an ASUS 7770 2GD5. I saw many MSI 7770 1gb versions and my question is, how do they differ in performance?

The amount of memory available to the card will mainly dictate performance by resolution. What resolution is your monitor?

The memory on a card is used to store information like textures. So if you have more pixels to draw on a monitor, you need more memory to load up those extra pixels worth of texture. You can find a comparison of the cards somewhere on the internet if you want specific numbers, I'm sure.
