1gb graphic card showing only 512mb

Hi got a DP55WG mobo and installed a 1024mb(1gb) ati hd radeon 5450 graphic card .After installing windows 7 and updating all the drivers I recognized that my pc is showing only 512mb DRAM which was supposed to be 1024mb and memory bandwidth also got halved.please help me

Maybe the card is only 512MB and you got cheated.
