Is it a persistent thing? Does it remain that high for many hours (days?) Does it remain that high after a reboot? Are you suspecting it is part of a problem? What are the other symptoms?

SVCHOST is one of those "black box mysteries" in Windows, a portmanteau for everything MS don't want to name.

You can go on the Windows (Microsoft) site and see how to trace down sho/what is occupying those handles. Maybe something like indexing, anti-virus.. who knows.

You can spend hours on it and be none the wiser.

This number can reach over 5kk ... It's reseted only when the time of ''Up time'' got reseted ... Every second the number it's getting higher
