1ms responseive time vs 4ms

I'm going to be getting a monitor very soon and I'm really not sure what response time I should go with. I know what the response time is but how important/great of differences is 1ms to 4ms?

The must have for my monitor is 27", 1440p and 1440hz with g-sync but the 1ms TN panel or 4ms IPS has me stuck between what to choose.

I do a ton of gaming but I also do a lot of animation design and video processing/editing which an IPS display will be spectacular in over a TN.

Thoughts anybody?

You want low ms response times as that reduces ghosting. The lower the better of course but IPS best is 4ms. Be sure to get 4ms with IPS panels or 1~2 with TN panels.

IPS all the way. Going from 4ms to 1ms or vice versa is unpercievable.

IPS is not always better than TN, regarding color quality.
You have to evaluate the individual monitors.

I had 2 very nice HP IPS panels.
My current Asus TN panels blow them away for color, black level, etc.

1ms vs 4ms? If you have bionic eyes, you might notice a difference.

You should go with whichever one looks better to your eyeballs and your wallet.

IPS. I know of no IPS 27" 1440p 144hz g-sync monitors that are not top quality. Though, if you're asking, doesn;t it make sense to also specify the models?

Well, i'm bringing this topic back from the dead
I am in the exact situation. Between Asus PG279Q and Asus PG278QR
One is 1ms but TN, and the other is 4ms but IPS.

I play mostly FPS games (not professional) but i love to play Skyrim, which is a game with beautifull landscapes and graphics if moded.

The above still applies. IPS generally since all Gsync ones are of good quality, but it's best to test them for yourself if you can. Big up for still loving Skyrim
