I have a 750GB hard drive that's split up into 3 different partitions. 15 GB recover partition, 100MB system reserved partition, and 658Gb RAW. However, all partitions have a blue banner and say Healthy Partition. as of now I'm not sure how to get the drive back to working order but I do know not to reformat it from what i have read. Any help would be appreciated.

i have also tried changing the drive letter and that didn't fix it. I also do not care about losing the data on the drive but i really need the drive to work. i only wish to get the partition fixed if possible.

Unfortunately the bad sectors in a combination with the problems you're getting make it sound like your drive is well on its way to fail completely. 🙁
When bad sectors start to occur, there's nothing one can do about it. This will continue until the drive inevitably fails and to make it even worse - it's impossible to tell how long this is going to take. It could be days, weeks, months or even more before the drive dies completely.
Even though you think it might be out of warranty, I'd recommend that you check anyway, just to be sure. If it is - go with RMA, if not - there's no other option, but to get a new one.

Good luck!
Hey there, jvick221.

If you don't care about the data, I'd recommend that you download the HDD manufacturer's diagnostic tool and test the drive in order to find out if there are any errors or bad sectors. You could also try the drive with a different computer or at least a different SATA cable/port on yours, to see if the same thing happens. Have you considered repartitioning and reformatting it, to see if that fixes things up?

Hope that helps.

I have tried formatting it in an enclosure however I get an error. I think i'll give the different port and the HDD diagnostic tool a go and come back with the results of the two or one if issue should b fixed.

I've downloaded and booted into Seagate SeaTools for DOS. My S.M.A.R.T. is "Supported and enabled" "SMART Has not been tripped" . I am running a basic test and the test seems to be looping over and over. not sure if that is normal or not. I aborted the "Short Test" and began running a "Long Test".

Update: "Long Test" failed. Says please save this code if you are planning on a warranty exchange however there is no code and im like 99% sure there's not a warrenty. "Bad Sector Found" is a topic it mentions for me to read.
