Hey Toms Hardware Community,

I've just built my first PC for gaming and when I press the power button, the lights on the side panel and the Graphics Card light up (whether the negative/positive are in the right place or not) and I can hear the Power on, fans spinning and the PC running, but there is no signal to my monitor.

I've read a thread that said to hold the power button for 30 seconds to a minute with the cords unplugged, but that didn't work.

I'm using a BitFenix Comrade Tower

Any help is appreciated,
Thanks

The only cord that leads from my display (my monitor) is an HDMI cable, which is plugged into the back of my pc. The Blue, 2 pronged, screw plug isn't the right size from the case. The monitor has two options.

I have a 6pin that runs from my motherboard to my power supply. Should there be another one?

The solution to this, will probably help anyone who is trying to solve this problem.

The EVGA 500w 80 Plus Power Supply may have come with 2 cords too many (with other cords and inputs branching off from the 2)

The first step is to list the parts you used.

I don't want to make another thread with the same problem, so my specs are:
AMD FX 6300 6-core 3.5-4.01 GHz Processor,
MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard
BitFenix ATX Mid Tower
1TB Disk Space Western Digital
Asus 23.6” LCD Monitor (VP247)
8GB Fury Hyper X RAM
MSI GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4G Graphics Card
EVGA 500W 80 Plus Power Supply

@The_staplergun @Zerk2012 I've been reopening my case repeatedly trying to solve the problem. I am going back to the store where I got it tomorrow, but for something else. I expected it to be working 30 minutes ago.

No graphics card is bad, some are just better than others. It was a fair price for my first build. And the issue would either be from my Power supply (where there are now two extra cords) to my motherboard (where an 8 pin and a 24 pin are already plugged in), or from my Graphics Card to my motherboard, where there is already a PCI connected to and from the two.

And the parts were bought locally, it being my first time. I'll be going back tomorrow for a version of the Windows Software

I've already done that, and my HDMI is plugged in there. Theres only one slot for any cord, and it was a PCIE.

The cords are built into my Power Supply. I need to know if my EVGA 500w Power Supply will work with my msi 970 Gaming Motherboard. And WHY I have two extra cords coming from my power supply.
