1st DIMM slot not working

Hi guys, i have a problem.
I took apart my pc to transfer it to a new case and once i reassembled it, none of my two ram sticks would work on the 1st DIMM slot but they both worked on the second.If i try to boot the pc with any stick in the 1st DIMM slot ,i'd get continous short beeps and no post. This is strange because this problem only occurred recently

If you don't need to use it, don't use it, use the other 2 for dual memory.
Probably some dirt/dust has gotten inside the slot, which then needs to be cleaned out. I wouldn't worry about it, unless you are populating all 4 slots.

I don't think I've ever seen a bad DIMM slot get fixed. It may be the mounting is bad, or a motherboard trace to it is bad, or even a COPPER connector is bent.

The only things I can think of really are:
1) blow out with compressed air, and
2) use magnifying close to look close for any damage

My bad, I should have checked the mobo first.
Well, I still think its probably got dirt in it

Thanks guys for the replies. I am upgrading my PC, so i will find a new purpose for this motherboard.
