Hey, I am looking at building my first gaming PC but I only have a budget of £500. I would like to use AMD and I am going to be playing Battlefield 3 and Day Z standalone at High graphics if possible.

If you can and are willing to help then please post the specs I would need below. Thanks! :)

Ok well I will do a little research and get back to you with what I have found. My only question is: Do any parts that I choose fit or is it a case of certain parts don't mix with others, for example an Intel processor with an AMD graphics card, or doesn't it really matter?

mobo and cpu must be compatible (mobos will say what type of cpu will fit them so thats nothing to worry about) - the RAM type and speeds that you choose needs to be compatible with mobo also. Everything else just needs to fit in the case you choose.

tbh once you attempt this for yourself you will see just how simple it all is.

Ok well i have found the majority of the components. I have another question though, what component does the graphics card slot into? I read that it can attach to the mobo but sometimes it is wired. Which one of these statements is true or are they both true?

Sorry dude but I cant go over the £500 mark and i still have to buy a monitor, keyboard and mouse. If you stick around though and I will post the specs that I find.

Not even for 14 pounds?

All the specs are great but I need a monitor, keyboard and mouse which at the moment are costing me £100. Also I am using AMD parts because I just can't afford Intel at the moment. If you really want to help out could you find me a HD monitor thats less than £60? I know its going cheap abd it may not even be possible but if you can it would be really helpful to me, preferably a screen size between 15" and 19". I will be posting all my specs for the PC 2moro at some point so you can check through them if you'd like. If not I appreciate what you have done so far. :)

That PC that loresr97 is pretty good for the money.
You could get a cheaper case, but I wouldn't advise skimping on the other bits - you will end up saving pennies and getting worse performance.

If you check out his PCPartPicker part list there are a load of good companies that sell parts at good prices. At lease one of them will have a monitor that fits your needs perfectly - in fact, with just a cursory check, they all do :)

Cool man but I found a graphics card that was 2gb but feel free to compare them. Asus Hd 7770 2gb AMD radeon. Was the PC you have found Intel or AMD?

Wow, I'm sorry I didn't noticed the case I gave you was a little expensive. Here is your build with all you asked. You can remove the OS if you already have it, making your PC with the monitor 520 pounds.

I know its a good PC but I Was taking your advice and trying to build my own PC by finding all the parts myself. Also I noticed that he is using Intel but I'm trying to build an AMD PC to see if it works out cheaper with similar performance. I am almost done finding the parts, just need a case, power supply, monitor and mouse.

I don't understand what you said.

Oh sorry dude I didn't notice that you had posted a new PC. Looks good though, I will check out the parts and compare to what I have so far. I might change the case but the monitor looks good and for £520 I'm impressed. I'll post back soon with a final decision on the parts. 😀 Is the video card overclocked or is that just the name of the website? Its just I was told that if you overclock a processor or video card then you have to buy a special type of cooling fan to vent out the heat quicker due to the extra heat that will be caused by the overclocking.

Name of the website, yeah you need an aftermarket cooler if you wish to overclock. But I don't know nothing about AMD processors so I don't know if you can overclock this one but I think you can.

Ok well don't worry about overclocking, i'm not even going to mess with that kind of stuff yet. Anyway I've had a chance to look through the parts. I will be changing the Tower case because I found one that I really like, I cannot fault the other parts though. My only question is: could you find me a smaller hard drive because I can afford this set up but I would like a better keyboard and mouse so could you possibly find me a 320-500 gb hard drive because its the only part I can think to change simply because I wont use that much memory. Cheers for your help buddy! 😀

Well the problem is the difference from 500gb to 1tb in price is minor

Oh ok. Is there anything I could change that won't effect gaming performance? its just that the key board and mouse come to £35 and they are really important because I will be using this PC alot so I need comfort. If its not possible its fine, I will just have to raise my budget a little bit.

I have a logitech k120 keyboard that came with a mouse it isnt uncomfortable, it was cheap. i also game with it

No I didn't mean it 'feels' uncomfortable but I want a backlit keyboard on it because I'm used to them and it would seem weird without it which would make things uncomfortable.

Hey man, I wanna thank you for finding me all the specs for my PC. I will be building it soon, with the help of my friend. Oh and sorry about me trying to get the price down several times its just that I'm paying for it with birthday money/xmas and wages so I wasn't sure if I was gonna get enough but I did luckily. Thanks anyway man, take care and good luck. 😀
