Hi - I'm building a pc for the first time in five years. It'll have a Asus P6T motherboard, i7 2.66 cpu, 3x2GB ddr3, Vista Home 64 bit, single sata hard drive, and blue ray burner.

My question is real basic, and I'm sorry if I should know this, but I don't.

In the past, I've used setup disks and a floppy drive to run fdisk to create a partition and format the hard drive before installing the operating system.

Since I have no floppy, how do I partition and then format the hd and is there any particular way to do it?

Any links to a step by step video, tutorial or web page would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks! Isn't Vista on a DVD, and if so, do I have to set the BIOS to start from the optical drive, and does the bios include the driver for the optical drive? I'm going to be using a LG Blue Ray Burner.

Thanks, and sorry for the stupid questions. I just never built a pc before where the optical drive would work before running the setup from the floppy drive. Hope this goes smoothly.
