Hello, I'm building my first PC (prices are averages found online) :

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($190)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 ($84)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($130)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($55)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($90)
Storage: Corsair Force Series GT 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($100)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB Video Card ($340)
Case: Bitfenix Shinobi Windowed (mod-tower) ($80)
Power Supply: SeaSonic M12II 520W 80 Modular ($108)
Optical Drive: Asus BC-12B1ST/BLK/B/AS Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer ($56)

Any improvements? Help is much appreciated.

The Corsair Force is not a good SSD - get a Samsung 830 or OCZ Vertex 4 instead. I'm not sure that Bitfenix case will accommodate a D14, you might want to consider something like an NZXT Phantom 410 instead. Otherwise everything looks good.

Drop your RAM down to DDR3 1600 mhz no reason to get anymore than that

Get the DDR3-1600 RAM as mentioned above, Get a better SSD. I recommend a Mushkin SSD if you want good read and write performance, and the Samsung SSDs for huge read performance but mediocre write performance. Drop the overpriced PSU, get an Antec Earthwatts 650W 80PLUS Bronze unit.

The only bad thing is the Mushkin drive and the Sandisk drive are both Sandforce based - you might want to check out the OCZ Vertex 4, or the Crucial M4 - both drives use far better controllers.

its perfectly fine. you are gaming, not excatly working. the differences in speed are unnoticeable
