Well, I'm on the edge of my seat in anticipation of the UPS guy's arrival. I'm building my first PC and it's an i7 920. Antec Nine Hundred Case, MSI Platinum X58 mobo, ASUS EN9600GT (512 MB) video, 6GB Patriot RAM, 500 GB SATA HD (won't spring for SSD quite yet), 64-Bit Vista Premium, 650 W PSU with a 1080p Samsung monitor, with BioShock and Fallout 3! What's your opinion of this build? I'm an engineering student and wanted to future-proof my machine as much as possible (barring the video card). How'd I do? And when is the UPS guy bringing my build?

i'm not so sure about that graphics card for gaming, but if you aren't gaming, everything else is awesome.

That's not a horrible card. It is a bit outdated and shouldn't be expected to play current games on high settings. However, if you paid this price for it, I would try to return it for this.

Yeah, I was looking at the 4830 and 4850, but a friend of mine recommended the passive cooling version of the Asus 9600... I was going to go with the 9800GTX+, but this was much cheaper. I plan on upgrading to a 4870 as soon as the come down in price a bit. Still, I'm hoping the 9600GT will hack Fallout 3 at 780p. Other than that, I'm not planning on throwing much at it... what would the performance difference be on the 4830?
