I'm planning on putting an older Dell 1950 III server into a colo and need to buy 4 reliable 2.5" drives for RAID 0 (mirrored) configuration. Server's storage controller is a SAS 6/iR supporting both SATA II (3Gbps) or SAS.

I'm seeking most reliable and at a moderate price, and less so performance and enterprise features. I could be traveling internationally and not able to replace a failed drive, and need reliability for remote use.

Any suggestions for drives to consider? I generally prefer Hitachi or WD.

Are you looking for spinning drives (HDD), or flash (SSD)?

Then - "Enterprise" usually pairs with "Reliability", and not with "price". Hard drive' longevity depends a lot of thermal conditions, so make sure your server' cooling is on par.
