1tb harddisk shows up as 100 gb

Need help in using the full space on my hard disk . I just got a new hard disk as my other disk had crashed. I installed Windows 8 on the hard drive . Now whenever I started my laptop it takes some time and then says operating system not installed properly installed it again. But if I go to task manager and login as guest I a able to login. But when I check the hard disk space it shows only 100 gb.

What needs to be done so that I can access the complete space?

Is the drive certainly 1TB? i.e. from a reputable brand? I would suggest going to disk management and checking to see what it says. Post screenshots if you can.

You should go to Disk Management and see whether you have lots of unallocated space over there.
