Title basically says it. A 1TB ssd goes for around $120-$130 on amazon right now, but to buy a 250GB ssd and 1TB Hdd would cost around $100 also. Which would be the better choice? I already have a 250GB western Digital Hdd that i could use for a "backup" at least for the os. And i don't really want to transfer games or files that much. Are there any downsides to just going with 1 large ssd instead of the recommended setup?

Some people (me) prefer one drive for the OS and applications, another drive or two for other stuff and games.
Other people prefer a single drive for everything.

The single 1TB SSD is fast across the whole 1TB space.

'better choice' is all up to you.
