Good Morning all, so once I figured the keystrokes out...I installed the New HDD...it goes through the Win7 32 bit setup great--UNTIL I choose the Edition and as I click next it pops back to the same screen?
**from Hiren's 15.2 ran 2 different Fdisks....followed by zeroing it out,
**tried Vista as well and different Editionsd + Win8.1 for good cause...I might add some of the time I am using an AIO dvd.

Thanks
:??:🙁

Solution
When these laptops were made, laptop drives were only getting to the 500gb size., laptop drives started using a slightly different technology to get to larger sizes (makeing the 'data' more denser on the discs. Intel came out with a new storage drive for these drives. (newer laptop drives equal or bigger than 500gb) Toshiba (at least a yr or so ago when I came across this) didn't 'recognize' this issue. I had trouble finding the correct driver on Intel's site, but , amazingly, found it on HP's site, as there laptops of this time had similar problems if replacing the drive. If you google around HP or Intel, you should find the driver to get past your problems.

Major Cortex Flagellation....I forgot about that, so would I be smart to go ahead and partition it up? And thanks for the quick, accurate response! :bounce: :pt1cable:
