I'm surprised they don't reuse old solar panels. They too have reduced output, but are perfectly suitable, so long as you have enough surface area to make up for the loss with sheer numbers.

This kind of journalism produces only more idiots. If the plant would be entirely powered by batteries, it would only run for 15 hours - given they are fully charged. My Ford is not powered by the plastic tank bubble beneath the trunk, but by the fuel I need to get from a gas station and put in there.
