I was just in my BIOS setting the voltage for my new ram and saw that the voltage settings go from 2.15v to 2.25v. Whereas the ram I am putting in is 2.2v. Will the extra .05v damage the ram?
Yeah its a P5B Deluxe. The stock setting of my RAM is 2.2v So I was just hoping the extra .05v wont hurt it. Its PatriotXtreme 4-4-4-12 High Performance RAM, and has some beefy heat sinks on either side of the RAM. Its 2 Sticks, 1gb each.
Sounds like an Asus board.
If it’s the P5B series, setting the voltage at 2.25 actually ends up at 2.2 volts and verifiable using a digital voltmeter.
You’ll be fine but 2.15 is within specs of the ram
