Windows 11 Vodafone thg3000 router tp link network adapter

Every time I start up, my pc connects to the 5ghz band which is for 4k streaming only. It will connect to the 2.4 fine, but only manually.

Anyone know how I can get the pc to forget the 5ghz band? And hopefully it will automatically connect to the other.

If the two bands have the same SSID (WIFI NAME) then the WIFI adapter will pick the one with the best signal and throughput. Typically that is 5Ghz. You would have to change your router to name the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz uniquely.
BUT, having your PC on the 5Ghz network shouldn't impact streaming unless you have created unnecessarily high bit rates on your personal media. Commercial streaming is generally 40Mbit or less for 4K.

They are separate and have different names, home and 4k. I like to give full bandwidth to the 4k if possible. Normally connects to that band fine.
