By the way, it's not 2.4 vs 2.4, most benchmarks are at 2.0 vs 2.0

Wow! Quite impressive, if Intel turn these Dothan to desktop, this would be very attractive CPU. AMD must turn to 90nm soon!

Actually, if they turned this into a desktop CPU, they'd improve on the memory system and further increase performance. Add 64-bit extensions and dual-core setups in 2005, with 2+Ghz, and you've got one hell of a chip. So it all depends on what AMD will have churned out by then, too.

This new core looks good for Intel future. But until these chip get to the desktop, AMD will have 90nm process and probably some other tweak/tricks. 2005 will be a very good year for CPU innovation.

I think that by 2006 mainstream CPU will be DUAL-CARE and 64bit compatible. And I'm pretty sure game studios already work on multi-processor 3D engine. Gaming it's what push mainstream CPU performance.

The best part is Dothan L2 cache is pretty impressif 7 cycle for read.Prescott have 25 cycle Nw have 12 cycle Madison have 5 cycle.

Have look a bit more in the benchmark after have read Johan (aceshardware editor) is true that cinema 4D NW core is allwayse faster that K8.

first of all unless they're using unlocked p4's... they are running the fsb way under spec so it isn't really accurate. all the other cpu's are running at default frequency.
