2 4gb GTX 760 3 monitors question!!

I'm a bit new to the graphics cards and what they will handle...so my question is with 2 gtx 760s at 4gb what games will i be able to handle and how smoothly will they run. I currently have 1 4gb 760, just curious if i'd be better off ditching it and going with something completely different, or just buying another one when i get my third monitor.!!??

Ditch it, gtx 760 is a 2gb card, meaning that 4gb card performs 99%+ like 2gb one, it's not using additional memory properly, if at all, so yeah, you'll be better off getting something like R9 290(X)/970/980(the best one).

If you are planning to run Nvidia surround and have your game using all three monitors, your frame rate on SLI will drop compared to a single card with one monitor.
If you were getting 60 FPS before, the result might be playable at 40 FPS.
If you were only getting 40 FPS before, then probably not.

As for new options, a GTX 980 will give you similar performance to the GTX 760 cards in SLI, but with a lot less compatibility problems.
If that isn't going to be fast enough, GTX 970 cards in SLI might be the go.

Expect maybe 50% of the 1920x1080 frame-rate with a 5760x1080 setup.

gpu memory wont double but you will get better fps but you wont get more memory

Its better to sell your 760 and get a GTX970. Performance wise 2x760=970 but 970 is much more power efficient and all games dont support sli properly. Always go for a single most powerful card you can afford, it will give you less problems than a dual card setup.

One gtx 970 will run 3 monitors without any issues?? also will it support a i5-4690k?

There is no problem with compatibility in using the GTX 970. It will work with your CPU and will support three monitors.
The issue is going to be frame rates.
Here are some benchmarks which include the GTX 970 and two of these in SLI. Look at the 5760x1080 benchmarks and click through different games:

In Metro Last Light for instance, a single GTX 970 produced 78.7 FPS at 1920x1080, but only 32.7 FPS at 5760x1080.
This was with the highest detail settings, so you would have to lower these for it to run smoothly.
With two cards in SLI they found 53.5 FPS at 5760x1080.

Yes 970 is compatible with 4690k and can run 3 monitors but obviously you have to turn down settings from ultra to high and turn AA off. See the benchmark VincentP posted.
