So I got the classic interference from USB 3.0 ports with Logitech Unifying and Bluetooth. The thing is that I don't have anything connected to the USB 3.0 ports.

It all started when I transplanted/upgraded my system from a Gigabyte GA-Z77MX-D3H mATX to an Asus Maximus V Gene mATX.

I solved the problem by connecting a USB 2.x entender cable to a USB 2.x port - away from the desktop, my mouse and keyboard work fine. But I would really like to understand what could be causing this typical USB 3.0 interference given that I don't have anything connected to such port.

My mobo/Win10/Logitech are up-to-date.

No. It had all started in a Dell Optiplex, and that transplant to the Gigabyte board was painless. Just like when I used my laptop's ssd on my desktop. So I didn't see any cause for an OS reinstall.
And there might be the problem.

Swapping motherboards or systems, and using the previous drive+OS, there are 3 possible outcomes:
  1. It works just fine
  2. It fails completely
  3. It "works", but you're chasing issues for weeks/months.
#3 is the mostly likely outcome.
And previous outcome is NO guarantee of future success.

Sounds like you are in #3.

What I'd like to understand is what could be causing this interference. If everything else is connected to PCI slots (wifi card, GPU), then what could be causing the same issue on the 2.4GHz band as connected USB 3.0 ports?

Fine, I'll simply copy/paste my question in the forum of another website.
I posted that, because the problem started with the new hardware, as you state.

When presented with new hardware (motherboard), an existing Windows install often fails.
Sometimes completely, sometimes in various strange ways.

The solution is to start with a full wipe and reinstall.

If the problem still persists, then it could well be a hardware issue.

But the likely problem is the old OS install.
