2.4ghz to 5ghz

Hello,

I have a single band 2.4ghz (MI Router 3C) installed at one floor of my residence where main connection wire from ISP is connected.

From that router extension cable goes to my third floor where my newly purchased TP-link AC1200 is connected, however, I am not getting internet connection on that router and get orange light on globe icon whereas when the 'extended cable' is connected to the DLink 2.4ghz single band router, internet starts working!

Is there something I am doing wrong or there's problem with my new purchase?

It sounds more like a configuration problem. You are able to login to the router to do setup? Did you run the setup wizard described on page 12 of the manual?
