2.5 gb 533 or 1.5 gb 800

what is better 2.5 gb at 533mhz using 1x1gb and 3x512mb
or
1.5 gb at 800mhz using 1x1gb and 1x512mb

because to me i really don't notice any performance differences
the only difference it has on me is that my e6600 doesn't want to get past 2.7ghz
runnin at the ram at 533

i'm a newb so i could be just missin somethin real obvious

Performance wise,2.5 GB would be better because many programs/games benefit from 2GB+ RAM.
Timings/Speeds have a little impact on the performance,they are mostly important in OC'ng
