[SOLVED] 2.5 laptop sata pinout, 12v...

Hello,
I have bought broken GoBook xr-1 laptop that is perfect for me to use it for car diagnosis.
I managed to fix it by resoldering pins of bios chip.

Next suprise was missing HDD and it's caddy.

Connector for the caddy is uniqe because caddy has heater in it (you can use this laptop at -23°c), but I don't need it.

Thankfully I had found the pinout for the ribbon cable connector on the MB, but there is no 12v supply.
I know that I need to make sure that I will install HDD that doesn't use 12v, but my question is, do I need to connect 5v to the 12v pins of HDD connector or do I leave it NC?

AFAIK all current 2.5" HDDs use only 5V, while 3.5" use 5V and 12V also for the motor.

In doing your own wiring, be absolutely sure to have the correct pinout connections for the 5V and ground wires -- any error can quickly destroy the drive.
